Gator Growl

Gator Growl is the flagship homecoming event of the University of Florida and a tradition that has continued to thrive for over 90 years.  It is a tradition that marks the culmination of Homecoming Week that once was held right in The Swamp, but now completely takes over Flavet Field. The largest student-run pep rally in the entire nation consists of musical and comedic entertainers, Gator athletics and performances by UF’s Cheerleaders, Dazzlers and Pride of the Sunshine Marching Band and bits from student organizations.

The Gator Nation’s legacy still stands and team spirit will not shake thanks to Gator Growl. Gator Growl’s tradition possesses the pride, school spirit and unity of the varying generations of students at the University of Florida. Whether you are or were a first-generation college student or a third-generation Gator, you will connect with fellow students and alumni and have a spectacular night under the Gainesville night sky. Gator Growl will be held on Friday, October 4, where we will come together as a unified university and prepare to beat Auburn, while enjoying family and friend time.
