Every year we encourage the University of Florida’s student body to get involved in the planning of Gator Growl and Homecoming. We begin planning as early as January for the year to come. There are many ways to get involved throughout the year by applying to be a director, assistant director or a staff member. At this time we are looking for dedicated students to apply to be a member of our staff.
Gator Growl and Homecoming staff members have many duties. They are responsible for attending all general body meetings, shadowing one director and participating in promotional events. They also help with organizational work the day of Gator Growl. These students help promote Gator Growl and spread the word about the new things we have to offer. We are looking for students who have the desire to give back to the University of Florida and continue our homecoming traditions with pride. Staff is a great place to start for anyone who has an interest in getting involved with the largest student-run pep rally in America.
This year, Gator Growl is featuring Ludacris and Foster the People and will be hosted by comedian Brooks Wheelan. Along with our entertainment, students and alumni can get excited to see many skits, athlete appearances and various performances from student groups and homecoming winners. We are looking forward to welcoming enthusiastic students to our team as we continue to plan for homecoming week and Gator Growl on October 17th.
Applications can be found on the resources tab on our website at GatorGrowl.org. Please turn in your application to the Florida Blue Key Trailer located next to the J. Wayne Reitz. The applications are due September 5th, 2014 by 5 p.m.
